Home Energy Resilience Cooperative

Group purchasing for clean-energy technology to further your home electrification journey.

Home Energy Resilience Cooperative

Home Energy Resilience Cooperative (HERC) emerged as an effort to support the long-term resilience and rebuilding effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in 2024 and Buncombe County’s community-wide goal to reach 100% clean energy by 2042.

Home Energy Resilience Cooperatives are a series of mini group purchase campaigns, approximately 60 days each, in which Electrify Asheville-Buncombe works with local contractors to put packages together that make electrifying our homes more affordable and accessible.

About Us

Let's Go Electric is a platform that facilitates community electrification programs, i.e., Electrify Programs, which help make electrifying our homes and businesses more affordable and accessible to community residents. The Let's Go Electric platform offers a range of tools, features and educational programming that add capacity for communities to meet clean-energy and equity goals that are easily accessible, help remove previous barriers to obtaining and investing in clean energy — all at no expense to the community.

The firm works hand-in-hand to support local government and non-profit organization leaders to forge and customize their local clean energy initiatives. While the idea of electrifying our homes and businesses as a decarbonization strategy is not new, a turnkey platform and expertise to administer grassroots Electrify campaigns was not widely available.
